(30 April 2025, Casiguran) — The Philippine Navy’s Naval Force North Luzon (NAVFORNL) of the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) recently held a consultation dialogue and conducted a site survey within the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO), marking an important milestone in enhance communications infrastructure along Luzon’s northern coast through collaborations and collaborative partnerships as part of its whole-of-government approach. This initiative paves the way for developing a proposed communications facility strengthening maritime security in the region.
This is part of the Philippine Navy’s broader strategy to bolster command and control capabilities in key strategic areas across the country, especially those crucial to national security and economic development. APECO, with its strategic location near the Philippine Rise - awarded as an exclusive economic zone of the Philippines, that is three times the size of Luzon.
APECO is supportive of the continuing partnership. Mr. John V. Socito, Officer-in-Charge of the Administrative and General Services Division, and Ms. Luzed Anne J. Jandoc, Chief of the Community Relations Division, both expressed their strong support for the initiative. They highlighted how the project aligns with APECO’s mission to support regional peace, order, and progress.
“We are excited to be part of this meaningful collaboration,” said Mr. Socito. “This consultation is an important step forward in strengthening the infrastructure that drives both economic growth and national security in our region.”
